Project Superstar!

I noe this is super delayed (considering the results are going to be out in abt 6 hours time), but who cares, I’ll still blog abt yesterday’s episode of PS.

Well IMHO, I thought the overall quality of the guys yesterday was not as good
as last week’s one. Surprisingly, their scores were also quite high (with FOUR of them scoring over 30). Maybe it’s cos of all the media that the judges are becoming more lenient. Haha… Nevertheless, there were some very “Wow!” and also very “Urgh!” ones.

M1 (谢维聪) – I think looks-wise, he can make it ba… But I must say his
performance din really “catch my ears”. Thought his duet (找自己) with M2 was lacklustre, and he could have done a lot better with his 流行森林雨. Daniel Chan’s version of this song is really nice and full of emotions. Can still remember that was one of the must-sing ktv songs during our Sec Sch/JC years. Heh… Anyway, back to PS. I thought his high notes were rather urgh. Not that his pitching was bad, just that I dun hear much confidence from his singing. Heh… Personally, I thought 32 was a very good score for him. Din really expect him to go past 30. =P

M2 (蔡义伟 a.k.a. 陈晓东No.2) – Wah, his eyes are really huge… And I think they have the ability to 放电. Hehe… Though he might be special in terms of looks, I thought his singing is only so-so. Din really like his rendition of 断点. I have to agree with the first judge that I din really feel his emotions in the song. Sigh…

M3 (何维健 a.k.a. Mr 可爱路线) – I thought he was one of the “Wow!” that night. His voice is really special and I thought his high notes sounded a bit like Z Chen’s sometimes. Can feel the confidence emanating from him and I really enjoyed his 2 performances, though I thought his 除此之外 was more captivating than his duet (你走了) with M4. But sad to say, I think his appearance is not as SUPERSTAR as the others. He’s really quite thin… Everytime I see him I’ll think of him as the male version of 家欣. Heh… But who noes, he might become 黑皮哥哥 No. 2 in future. Haha…

M4 (梁伟强 a.k.a. Cute Beng) – Aiyoh, I think he must be really upset leh… He’s the first failure so far rite??? So 可怜… But I really felt that his performance was quite bland… Din like both the 李圣杰 songs that he sang. Is he big fan of 李圣杰 or something?? Thought he also sang one of his songs (手放开) in the auditions. Dunno lah, maybe I was mistaken. Heh… But the up-side is that I think many young teenage girls would be bewitched by his cute-cute appearance (quote 黎沸挥: 看你们两个人的表演好像在看安培那杯儿童卡拉ok比赛一样). He has the 坏小孩 looks and most young girls seem to have such preference. 男人不坏,女人不爱 mah…

M5 (陈耀榕) – Honestly, when he first appeared for the duet (翅膀) with M6, I wasn’t really attracted to his singing. BUT… When he opened his mouth for 你不在, my, it really blew me away. That song is not easy to manage cos of all the switch between falsetto and real singing voice, but I must say he carried it off pretty well! He’s like “Wow! Wow! Wow!” lor… I’m not surprised that 3 of the judges (inc. 李伟松) gave him 8.0. Anyway, Prozac, if you happen to see this blog entry, do you think he looks one of our Medicine seniors who used to stay in KE7 Hall? I noe it’s not him (cos he’s only 22) but they do look quite alike at certain angles. Heh…

M6 (陈孟奇) – Aiyoh, I dunno why the judges gave him such a high score of 32. I seriously dun think he sang that well lor… For 翅膀, he kept changing the original tune and for 阿妹’s 解脱, I thought he sounded a bit gay-ish at some points. Din like his rendition and felt like he was killing the song slowly. So yucky. And what’s with the white wristband thingy on his left wrist? Lucky charm?

Ok lah, enough of all the commenting. I must declare that whatever I’ve written above are all my own personal opinions. Paiseh if I’ve offended anyone. But no paiseh if you dun agree with what I’ve said.

I’m not born a “Seer” so I dun think I have the clairvoyance like what Prozac claims to have. Hehe… IMHO, I think M2 will go home tonight… Can’t really tell who would be the 2nd one to leave the competition but I do hope it’s M6. Think M4 might survive tonight’s elimination cos his family members++ would prob panic and have SMSed/called in thousands of times for him. Hehe… After all, that’ll make up 70% of his total score. =P

Can’t wait to watch the Females’ 2nd half tonight! Got “brudder”!!! Hope she does well. Heh…

P.S. Just a side note, after watching all the 12 guys perform for the past 2 weeks, I roughly have an idea of who I hope will progress further:
1. 林昱志 (Leon Lim)
2. 洪俊扬 (Hong Junyang)
3. 何维健 (Derrick Hoh) – Malaysian ancestry??
4. 陈耀榕 (William Tan)

I still like Weilian’s voice but I seriously feel it’s rather difficult to market him as a superstar. I must reiterate that I’m NOT discriminating against him and I’ll still support him as a singer, but not as a superstar. =)

Happy Fathers' Day!

One night in a hospital, there were 4 new fathers-to-be in the labour ward lounge waiting for their wives to deliver for the first time. All of them looked very nervous and were waiting expectantly…

Soon, the nurse came out of the ward and told the first man, “Congratulations! Your wife has given birth to twins!” The man was very elated and he exclaimed, “What a coincidence! I happen to work in the Petronas Twin Towers!” And he rushed off with the nurse to see his wife and 2 new children in the ward.

Not too long later, the nurse came out again and approached the second man, “Congratulations! Your wife has given birth to triplets!” The man jumped for joy and said, “This is so coincidental! Do you know I’m currently an employee with 3M Corporation?” And just like the previous man, he immediately followed the nurse into the ward.

A short while later, the nurse came out and shook the hands of the third man, “Congratulations! Your wife has given birth to quadruplets!” On hearing this, he opened his mouth and appeared very surprised. The nurse stared at him and the fourth man standing next to him then said, “He works in the Four Seasons Hotel as a chef…” The nurse smiled and guided the man in to see his wife and children.

By this time, the fourth man was already ashen-faced. He appeared very anxious and was sweating profusely.

When the nurse came out of the ward looking for him about 5 minutes later, she was shocked to see him lying on the ground. When he finally regained consciousness, the nurse could hear a faint mumbling from him, “I shouldn’t have agreed to take up the offer to work at 7-11…”

Joke aside, here is something meaningful which I wish to dedicate to my father:
I am strong
When I am on your shoulders
You raised me up
To more than I can be

“Happy Fathers’ Day” to my heavenly Father above and all the earthly fathers here!

Another Nice Song...
