So Rubbish!!!
My sis went for SYF Competition yesterday and it ended up with a whole ging-gang of TKGS girls teary-eyed. So on earth what happened? Some basic knowledge first:
- 80 -85 pts = gold ("low gold")
- >85 = gold with honours ("high gold")
- Maximum no. of ppl who can take part in the choir = 80
What happened was the judges found eighty-ONE students when they counted the no. of ppl in the choir from the photo they had taken. So as a punishment, 10 marks were taken off and they are only awarded 81 points now. SO... They have lost their "high gold" and the other all girls' choirs now prob have a chance to fight for the top position (I won't mention what schs anyway). That is so stupid!!! Especially when the choir's student conductors and sectional leaders have counted only 80 ppl (including THEMSELVES, for those who are thinking that they must have forgotten to count themselves =P).
I was trying to console my sis so I told her this is prob in line with the movie "Eye 10" and this could be the 11th way to see a ghost ba. =P But, so strange, after being in the choir for so many years, I haven't had the "luck" to see one yet. Maybe it'll only happen with all-girls choir??

Q: What is the 11th way to see a ghost?
A: Sing in an all-girls' choir for SYF competition 2005???

Aiyer! Yah lor sounds so creepy! Did they actually let the choir themselves count again in front of the judges?! So sad!
Oops! Paiseh to reply so late... Anyway, the judges only discovered that the no. of ppl was in excess only after the girls were off the stage. They counted the ppl based on the picture that was taken during their performance.
I think 10 marks have really been taken off their original score, so they fell into the "low gold" category now lor. Dun think they're eligible for the best all-girls' choir this year liao. =(
